Starting up Car in A.M.
I've had my car for about 1 year and 8 months now. I know a battery should last at least 3 years if i'm correct. When i start my car up in the morning for the first time during the day, it takes an extra second or two to turn. I can hear it. Throughout the rest of the day though, it starts up fine, and runs fine. Does the cooler weather at night affect it at all? I know lately by me it's been colder at night as apposed to a couple weeks ago. Was just curious about this...
Cooler weather will tend to slow down a car in the morning. And with the oil cold and nothing flowing in your system it may take that extra second.
But do you mean it takes an extra second to start cranking?
Or...an extra second cranking to start?
Now I've got myself confused.

Um, it's not THAT cold yet. If it is having cold weather starting issues now, you're not going to get it started in a Jersey winter. I think there's something more to it than just coolish weather starting.
The only time my car hasn't started right up was when it got around -20F here in IL last winter. Other than that it has been fine.
If you fuel quality isn't what it should be that could also do it.
