Question sports filter

Hi every one. I just put a sports filter in my car k&n filter, but when I hit 3000rpm it is as if it loses power and poor idling. what to do?
It's a mazda 3 2.0 2007

Well the NEW K&N air filter should not have caused that. Technically speaking it can't cause a engine speed limit. I would first go back and make sure you did not leave something disconnected or by accident disconnected something. If you think all is well then replace the filter or just leave it out and do a test run for a "short" distance with a moderately accelerating to 3000 rpm and see what happens.
