Default Side mirror. Please Help.

Ok here is the dilemma. Someone hit my side mirror and the plastic cover for it is cracked beyond repair. i called the mazda dealer and they said that they only sell the whole mirror for $150. it is a mazda 3i stock. does anyone know where i can get just that piece? It is titanium grey if that helps.

I can think of a couple of options for you.

Option 1: go to a junk yard and find one of a wrecked 3. Ti Gray is pretty common so there's a good chance you'll find one there.

Option 2: get replacement covers with LED turn signals in them and just replace both. Try searching for..... ummmmm..... Nabobery (?) on e-bay.

Option 3: Ignore your dealer because he's trying to rip you off. You can get a full mirror housing, plus heated mirror glass for about $105. The mirror heater wiring is already in the car, so all you'd have to do is pull off the old housing and plug the new one into it and Viola! Incidentally that price is from www.onlinemazdaparts.com. Don't worry about them being rip-off parts, as that's actually a Mazda dealer's website.

If you live in abig city, you may find thereare used parts dealers that you can call. I knowwhere I live, you can phone and name your part. They'll write down your request, and call you back after checking if they have it.This is a lot more time efficient than trolling junk yards in person.

Perhaps a better phrasing would've been Check a junkyard. Good suggestion, thanks.

Look HERE for the side mirror upgrade. Scroll a little down and you should see it in the catalog on the right. It will fit on '04 and up models. Simply unplug the harness, remove three bolts, remove the mirror housing, and repeat backwards to install the new one. If you have any questions then I'm happy to help. Or give Jason (from onlinemazdaparts) a call and he'll hook you up. Just tell him Remi sent you. Actually he'll take care of you great anyway.
