I also kept thinking about doing it and after readingsome recent threads finally decided to take the moldings and 2.3 badges off. First, maybe cause I'm older I usually like badges. No regrets. It (imo) really adds some class to the car. Plus the moulding was actually too low (at least with our RX8 door) to offer protection so off they went. I don't know if you can tell by my avitar but most of my friends like the cleaner look. Oh btw my car was almost a year old when I removed the moulding and badges. Good Luck

I also hem-hawed around about it, but it got me in the end and I have had no problems. In fact, after nearly two years, there was so much dirt and grit built up under there that I may actuallty have SAVED the paint!!

Virgin, both rides look nice man but I have to ask on on your M3 I notice your calipers are blue . Is that paint or can you purchase blue calipers ? I hope that is not a stupid question but I notice how clean and the the blue looks very blue, I painted mine red and the rear ones ( always look dirty) do not look as good as the front ones.

I also notice on your rims what look like centercaps ? Did you change those or they are the type that are stickers ? THANKS

Yup! Just good ole' hi-temp blue caliper paint... about 6 coats+/-.
And no, I didn't buy new caps or stickers. Couldn't find any that I liked and there are only 2 styles available from what I could find... both black.
I used transparent red tape and an Xacto knife... and I have to redo them about 3 times a year for them to keep looking good too. So, be forewarned if you decide to do it.

Oh, yeah. You do have to keep themn clean, especially in the rear. OEM pads, y'know?
I also painted the rotor hats the same way, though hard to see in that pic. Still hard to see, but here's a close up.
