Default Red Key Indicator with Exclamation

I bought my wife a new spare OEM FOB. We took it to be programed and now the car has a red key indicator but the push to start is green and the car runs although it seems to run a little rough. I have scoured Google with no luck on how to resolve the issue. Anyone here ever have this issue?

Take it back to whoever programmed it. Or get it scanned for fault codes.

If the key you've had purchase was exactly the same model and with the same amount of buttons as the original, likely you bought a Chinese FOB, some programmers have difficult finishing programming and the car trigger an alarm. Car would run and start normal.
Check with a scanner for DTC's, DTC B13D3:4A-8A is what you expect to see for this issue.
Go back to to the locksmith and show your problem, maybe he got another kind of programmer.
BTW, your car running rough it's got nothing to do with this.

I am having the same problem. A Chinese FOB! Is the best remedy getting the OEM FOB or can the Chinese FOB be programmed?
