Default Rattle/Vibration noise in eng. compartment.

So anyway, I have an 08, 2.3, and when I get on the throttle kind of strong I hear what seems to be, not so much a rattle, but a vibration in the engine compartment.

It's not constant, when I depress the gas strongly, it pulses, and almost sound like a metal on metal vibration, almost like coins rattling.

And it's not the coins in my ashtray, it is coming from the engine compartment.

Any input?

Coins in the ashtray isn't a bad thing. lol I would start with the engine mounts. You could always take it to the dealer under warranty

You sure it isn't pinging? My '07 did something similar from time to time, but it was the sound you describe and it was pinging. It did it for a while and then cleared up before I made it to the dealer, I'm thinking I had some crappy gas for a tank or two. Mine did it more often when the A/T would go into overdrive around 40mph or so though, not under heavy footedness (is that a word?) .

It's done it since she was new. And only when I accelerate hard from a slow speed or stop.

valves maybe, mine always made a ticking sound (like when u drop a coin on a table between ur fingers and let it bounce) if it is its nothing to worry about just keep up on the oil changes, does it make the sound @ idle?

Nope, doesn't occur at idle, no more noise than these Mazdas normally make.
