Default Paint Problem

Hey everyone,
Im new to this forum. I own a 2005 Mazda 3. Just the other day I noticed that on the side of the rear bumper (close to the rear wheel) that something was wrong with the paint. Theres like an area that the paint looks blotchy, its hard to explain but it almost looks like thousands of tiny tiny chips, although it still feels fairly smooth. I have no idea whats going on with the paint, Ive never noticed it before and not sure how long its been like that. The other thing is that the rear bumper is easily scratched and they dont seem to be light because I cant get them out. The rest of the car is fine though. Was the rear bumper not painted right?

Any ideas?

Thanks everyone

Steve

If your car is 2 years old, and your just noticing it, I don't know that you can blame it on the car not being painted right in the first place. It sounds to me like something that just happened.

If there is a good news angle to this, it is that the bumpers are polymer, so if there is a paint issue, at least your metal is not at risk.

I would try cleaning it, then buffing the area with rubbing compound (lightly) to see if that rectifies it.
