Default Noob question here, for my 2008 mazda3

Hey guys,

I just recently bought a black 2008 mazda3. It has an "M" drive that I can shift into. I just wondered what the "M" drive is, and when to use it. I also wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of where to get cool customization ideas for my car.

thanks for the help.

You have a (as I like to call them) Man-U-Matic! What does Mazda call them? Sport Shift Automatic or some-such nonsense? The M only means that you can shift your automatic in a manual mode though don't expect it to act/react like a manual 5 or 6 speed would.
Put the lever in M, then to upshift tot the next gear, or shift up push the lever to + and release. To downshift, -, and so forth.

I'm sure you didn't damage anything (unless you were seriously overrevving the engine.)

For driving down the freeway (or in mountains) I'd just let it shift itself (D)

The "M" function is for sportier driving where you want to control the shift points.

Try the Photo Galleries. https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/all_albums.php
Also try, Post a Pic of Your Ride: https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/sho...1003#post91003

But remember, "cool" is in the eye of the beholder.
