Nice sound system
I was just curious if i were to put in a system, would 2 10" subs be too much for that small of a car. I need some successful stories on what you put in your ride. Also im not trying to be heard from 100 feet away and Shi* ya know? i just want something thats gonna sound nice a have a "semi-pounding" effect like one 10 or 12. Also i still want to be able to talk to someone in the car without your voice vibrating ya know lol thanx for the feedback
so i don't know if your talking about putting your bass in a hatch or sedan.(hatches need less to be just as substancial) i have a 04 5-door and what i put in mine beets pretty loud. 2 12-inch x-tants (hexis) running with a phoenix gold amp. the amp is kindof week (500 rms) but the subs can handle 300 rms a piece. and since there in a slotted box there is allot more room for improvement. but it still shakes. so i don't know how much you want, or what type of music you listen to but basically rap and hip hop and techno (low punchy, throaty bass) go with surface area. larger subs and just as big an amp, basically to your wallets extent. but for rock, punk and metal a nice set of tens with a good amp will keep up with the increased frequency. if your looking for a nice "pop" in your tones get a sealed box, it will give a kindof psuedo loudness that will distort at high db's. but for a nice brain shake get the box ported. if you want me to post some pictures of my system then tell me. but im kindof lazy and don't want to go through the trouble if you don't care. let me know how it turns out. oh, and i don' t know if you got a aftermarket deck, but if you didn't and you don't want to, then let it be known that there is a nice converter out there that will link up with your standard face. bass control and Fade are included in my package. Let me know if i helped any. Luck
what kind of converter would i need to do that because i dont want an aftermarket deck , mainly because i think it doesdnt look good with the rest of the dash. but ya id like to get more info on controling the bass levels and the fade witht he stock unit. thanx
I have one JL 12" in my 05 4 door three, with a rockford amp. it sounds realy good everyone who hears it thinks I have 2 12's. I also stuck with the factory dash insted of puting in an after market cd player.
i don't know what to tell you, i got mine professionally done at car stereo city, they did it great. I don't know if you are going to do it yourself but if you do you still might go by your local car install shop and tell them exactly what you want. what they told me is that there is just a little converter that i had to buy that fit right behind the face that created an extra rear auxillary speaker. just talk to them and they will probably find a good piece
I dont think you need a converter, they just take the sound output from one right speaker and one left speaker. If you want to control the bass sepratley then you have to buy an amp with an auxilary control that you can mount anywhere around your dash.
I've just put a 4,000 watt max "12" power acoustik sub in my trunk with a 1,200 watt legacy amp with built in hi/lo and had it installed to my stock radio (I like the stock look) without any converter. It thumps like a ***** and got both for abot $215 at www.etronics.com. Their merchandise is awesomely priced. The only thing now is I'm worried that stuff will start loosening up on the 5th door [8D]
I dont think anything bigger than 2 10's would be a good idea.. I had 2 10's in my INTEGRA and that car was way smaller.. it was almost too much bass for that..
I would have 2 10's in my 3 right now if I really wanted to.. thats the best size and I think anything bigger than that would rattle that car wayyy too much...
