Need new TIRES...any favorites?
I think so because the Nokians i put on mine are extremely quiet and the road noise has dropped greatly. When i would be cruising on the highway at 70-80 mph and had the radio volume muted, my passengers would still try to lower the volumebecause they couldn't hear theperson on the other line of the phone because of the road noise. Then they would realize there was nothing they could do about the sound.Like i stated in the previous post, theseNokians are really quiet and make the ride more comfortable by absorbing the bumps better.
Have you also read the reviews of the Focus?? They really seem to have a problem that extends to secondary harmonics being transfered into the cabin.
I have never really had a problem w/road noise, not even with the dreaded (and hated) Bad Year's,though tires can affect that, but have heard some that complain about it.Let's keep in mind, this IS an economy car, not a Lincoln or Cadillac. If you want luxury car appointments, buy a luxury car... and spend $20k more too.
Personally, In 35 yrs of holding a driver's license I have NEVER felt the need to go that way. I want a car that handles well and is fun to drive, and also to hear what my car is doing and I get a certain satisfaction from that.

I second that opinion. I also like to hear, feel and taste opps !! What I mean is the feeling of driving around in a quiet car makes me want to go to sleep and you can not do that in a m3. [:@][:-]
I'm running Falken FK452's and these things are amazing. Sure the road noise is a little loud, but the handling is pretty sweet. Rated at 40k miles, and with almost 20k miles on it, im only down to a 7 tread wear. mine were $122 a piece, but im coming up on my first winter with the 3, so i dont know how they are going to on snow and ice.

I put YK520s on mine a couple of weeks ago. The reviews are favorable. Grip seems good, wet and dry. I won't have to deal with snow here in Florida, so I can't speak to that. Supposedly, they're pretty good there, too.
Hi Guys:
Just replaced my stock pieces of crap tires with Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid's.
Much crisper handling, no push in corners like the old tires. Less body roll, and... a smoother ride!
Good tread depth..looks like they will last.
