Question My new Mazda3 2008

Hi everyone

I just purchased my 1st Mazda and was reading the manual about maintenance. Is it true to run the car on 91 (premium gas)? Also, should I only be using "synthetic" oil?

Any other tips/suggestions?

Thanks

No, whomever told you to run 91 AKI has no clue what they're talking about; you should be running "Regular" Unleaded Gasoline.

While using synthetic oil is preferrable (from my perspective), it is in no way a requirement.

Just to clarify do you have a regular mazda 3, or do you have a mazdaspeed 3? If you have a regular 3 then there's not benefit to be gained by using anything greater than 87 octane. If you have a mazdaspeed 3 then you shouldn't use anything less than 91 octane as it's a turbo-charged engine.

Agreed, and to add to that, if the car in question is in fact a MazdaSpeed3, the using synthetic oil is also highly-HIGHLY recommended.

My post is not relevant to the above, but I need some advice on my 2008 ms3. It has been pouring out white smoke from my exhaust when at idle, but not all the time, just here and there over the past few months. The dealership couldn't get it to smoke and sent me on my way(go figure). Would love any suggestions?
