Question Is my mileage normal?

Driving a 2008 Mazda 3 Sedan GT and doing 90/10 city/highway and getting about 350-375 Kilometers per tank.

This seems terribly low should I have this checked by my dealer or am I in the norm?

you should be getting 24 to 28 mpg idk about kpl? lol

id try running some injector cleaner throught it first and see if that help and clean the air filter too. that what id do and if that doesnt help take it to a dealer.

or just keep your foot out of it lol jk i know thats practically impossible lol

If your doing 90% city driving then you're pretty much bang on where you should be for your fuel economy.

Given that current fuel standards contain solvents to keep fuel injectors clean (I've taken down engines with over a quarter of a million miles and the injectors are as clean as the day they came from the factory), unless there is evidence of a clogged fuel injector (i.e. rough engine operation/cylinder misfire OBD-II codes), fuel injector cleaner is a complete waste of money. As for changing the air filter, even if the filter is clogged to the point where the engine can only get enough air to maintain say seventy mph, a new filter will not change the fuel economy of the car (except to maybe reduce it as you'll now be able to accelerate faster).

Regarding your last bit of advice, yup, we have a winner! If the OP can keep his foot out of it his mileage will improve dramatically.

Did I read your original post correctly that you're doing 90% city driving?

Also, when you fill up, how many liters of fuel do you typically put in?

Yep, and I do realize that with most of my driving being city my mileage will certainly be lower, I just wanted to clarify if the number's I'm getting are under what I should expect driving with a light foot.

Two more questions:
  • How many liters of fuel do you typically add to your tank when you fill up?
  • What type of a transmission do you have in your car?

Okay, by my math that works out to 11.7 liters per 100 km or 20.1 mpg; not at all bad for 90% city driving, not great either but not bad.

Well idk about where you live but where i live the gas can be pretty dirty and fuel injector cleaner also cleans the gas and i have actully noticed a difference in the way my car runs once i run some through it and also a clean air filter never hurt anything either im pretty sure better air flow = less restriction= better mpg its not gunna make a huge difference by any means, you probably wont even notice it but it definetly wont hurt anything either. My drive is also mostly city and i am by no means a light footed driver but i don't floor it all the way either and i have a 5 speed and i get on avage about 23 mpg
