Hi I’ve just purchased an mx5 mk3 1.8 2007.
It is fitted with a sports exhaust not my choice as it’s too loud but the deal was worth buying, just one failed mot since 2012. Lots of paperwork and near immaculate condition for just £1,300. I picked the car up in South end on sea, on the drive home after 160 miles the steady yellow engine light came on and stayed on until I arrived home in Devon. No difference at all in performance, oil pressure and cooling system spot on. I’m just wondering if it is likely the exhaust system if so why it should come on after 160 miles and not immediately. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Baz
