Default MS3 BOV question

besides the 'cool' sound, is there any arguable reason to buy an aftermarket blow-off valve? i know what a BOV does, and I understand that it doesn't improve power or torque, but are there any other noticeable differences after changing out the stock one?

nopeeee! just a beautiful sounding instrument that releases excess air. no power gain or ne other major difference. its on u to decide how much air is too much air, and that's wat needs to be released. some ppl recirculate everything, some vent it all, and then theres those hoo want the best of both worlds.

I have a SSQ bov on my car and i used the stock recirc tube and i clamped springs on the inside of the tube so it wouldnt crimp with the new BOV is this ok you think? the spring cannot move.

Do i need to recirculate? because of the MAS?

I've checked out alot on the BOV. It actually does improve one thing, its not too noticeable, unless you get one that works very well. But it actually reduces turbo lag. I've compared the HKS SSQV to the Greddy and to the Tial Synchronic 50mm bov's. The Tial is insane. Its also known as a "stutter" valve, cause it makes a one-of-a-kind noise. You should check out this sick video, its the only one i've found to demonstrate the quality of the sound, unfortunately its on a WRX. but it sounds great, and i've already order my own. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXqgTtHECnk

I got a HKS SSQV onmy Speed 3. It's messing with my turbo makeing my car go "woo woo woo woo". I was told I need to adjust the spring. Where do I adjust it? How much do I adjust it? Recirculation hose hooked up but even with VTA it still does it. HELP!!!

Someone told me if I didn't recirculate, I'd eventually blow my engine. I was under the impression that VTA would just cause the engine to run rich for a second, and I'd lose boost. Anyone know anything?

I'm going to recirculate anyway, I'm just curious.
