Default mazda3 and mazdaspeed3 mpg

I'm looking for real mpg figures from ppl who actually own these cars. The mazda3 would be the 2.5 with the standard. I don't totally trust car and driver, etc with those figures. My daily commute to work is 92 miles round trip and 85% of it is highway (75mph). Mazda is making it very hard since a grand touring 3 is only 300 less than a mazdaspeed 3. Any info is greatly appreciated

Don't forget the about car insurance. There might only be a $300 difference between the cost of both cars as you stated in your post but you will find the insurance rate for a speed 3 much higher than the standard 3. I just thought I would let you know. I looked into what it would cost me to insure a speed 3 and it was expensive compared to what I pay for my Mazda 3 and I'm 35 and had a clean driving record til I recently got two expensive tickets

What do you drive know? What state do you live in? I live in Central Florida and drive an 06 3i touring and I carry full coverage with high limits 100k and 300k because everybody in Florida likes to sue. I pay $1200 a year and if my memory serves me right my premium would jump to $1600 plus per year.

I have a 2.3 standard and as far as fuel mileage goes, you can expect anywhere from 25 to 30 mpg depending on your city/highway mix and how fat you drive. I drive a 50 mile round trip commute everyday, drive 65-70 and I usually average 30-32. I know some other members here have been on road trips and gotten even better than that.

thanks for the hard data. I'm still not sure what car I'm going to get. It's a toss up between 4 models
