Default Mazda3 2.2d 2014 low boost issue

Hi all,

hoping someone can help! I have a 2014 2.2 Diesel. I have very low power until what I assume is the larger turbo coming in at around 2.5k revs. I have no codes, already had all the intake manifold and EGR etc cleaned out and the problem persists.

it used to happen intermittently but I had P2262 codes back then. I cleared it and it would run fine again for ages.

Please can anyone help… I don’t want to keep throwing money at it and getting no where!!

Check the wastegate, these bi-turbos are known for the smaller/primary wastegate flap rivet to fail and the wastegate stays open, loosing boost.

You can remove the intake pipe and inspect inplace.
