if your canister keeps getting clogged which is preventing the fuel from going in, the only two possible things i can come up with is that the gas your putty in is REALLY contaminated (its possible) or the material inside the canister is breaking down for some reason and needs to be replaced, really should have a tech look @ that.

It shouldn't be the fuel filter at all. U should bring it back to your dealer to check for the problem.

im having the same issues. i noticed on mine that fuel actually comes back out of the vent tube if I try to force the fuel in. I thought that the vent tube may have been blocked until i saw that. its driving me crazy. could their be a filter of some kind in the filler tube?

im going to check the vent tubes anyway.

I'm having the same problem with my Mazda Protege. It doesn't matter where I go to buy fuel, the pump clicks off in about 10 second increments. I'm taking it apart today to try and find the problem. Has anyone found a solution?

Vent filler tube for me had water or condensation built up in the line. The paper filter was full of mud and water as well.. cleaned them out and fixed the 10 cent fill problem.. issue is the tank isnt venting and this you're just pressurizing the tank when trying to fill eventually causing the fuel to vomit back up the filler tube

Default Same problem

The same thing started happening with my CX-5 last week. I thought that it might be the nozzle on the pump the first time, but I had the same problem at a different station this morning.
