Mazda 3 auto transmission swap 2.0L to 2.3L, will it fit?
Hello everyone!
I have a 2008 Mazda 3 2.3L Hatchback, really nice car. My transmission starting to go bad.
I had the TCM rebuilt, but that didn't fix my problem. I found a transmission for about $800 with 155k miles, but I don't wanna spend too much money fixing my car. I love this car and don't wanna let it go.
To make this story short, I can get a transmission from a 2011 Mazda 3 2.0L for about $150 with 130k miles.
Now, can I swap the transmission from the 2011 2.0L to my 08 2.3L? Has anyone done something like this before?
I know the engine is different, but what about the tranny? I looked at the transmission of the 2011 and it looks the same as mine. Does anyone know if this swap is possible?
