I have driven a manual for years and now have a 2019 3 with an automatic. If i use manual mode and shift, do I ease off the accelerator when shifting like I would with a manual? Thanks

 

No, it is an automatic transmission, technically with a "semi-automatic" mode; just keep your foot in it.

 

I never take my foot off the accelerator when I'm upshifting in manual mode, but I do when I'm downshifting such as when approaching a traffic light. I enjoy having the manual mode feature on the car as I think it makes it more fun to drive and lets you rev up the engine to get more power when accelerating.
