Get a Friction Mount!

Just read any of the 835 5-star reviews.

Friction mounts are fantastic b/c you can just put it under your seat or something when you're not using it. At first when i got my garmin 2 months ago I thought I'd be using it all the time when I drive, but I soon realized there really wasn't a point to using it when I was just driving to work. I only use my garmin when i'm driving to new places or if I get lost somehow.

Either way, you DONT want to mount it too your window, that is a target for theives b/c then they know you have a GPS.

The friction mount works fantastic, doesnt slide around AT ALL, even if you slam on your brakes!

Mount it somewhere up near the front of you. That way it can tell you where you are going. I was going to mount mine on the rear window, so I know where I've been.

why would you want it low? then you would have to look down to see it and take your eyes further off the road.

I have a Garmin Nuvi with the 4.3 inch screen and put mine in the lower left corner of the windshield.

MazdaN00b did your mommy let you out of the basement to play with the PC again?

Thats cool idea on your part, that way when you slam into tree in the near future it can plow threw the back of yourskull and end upall overyour windshield along with that little spec of grey matter you call a brain........

because if its down low off the windshield I wouldn't have to take it down and put it away every time I parked my car.
That can be a pain. Plus with the voice to text on my GPS you can just listen and you don't really need to be looking at the screen all the time.

You might want to check with your State's laws also. Some states, like Calif., have made mounting anything (like GPS or radar detectors) to the windshield illegal.
