Kenwood CD Changer..
if i were to get a Kenwood cd changer, would that plug into the stock headunit in the 3i, non Bose stereo. If not, is there an adapter that i could purchase to make it work, or is just not possible. any info would be appreciated.
Well I have only owned my 3 for a couple days so I can't give you a definate answer yet...
But you always have the option of going with an FM Modulated CD Changer system. The sound quality isn't going to win you a Sound Quality trophy, but to 95% of the population the difference will not even be noticeable. These systems are cheap and don't require much modification to your car.
Always think of resale value before you chop/chut or rebuild anything in your car. I have a basement full of DB Drag Racing trophies and I just sold my 10 year old Grand Am Coupe for $500. In good condition I could have got upwards or $3000 for it, however the whole interior needed replacing and the trunk/rear seat were chopped and cut up beyond belief.

have you asked anyone else other than on the forum? i would go to a place that sells audio eqipment like Circuit City and find out from them, but you get it anyway and no matter what you do to make it fit/work just take it back (dont forget to keep the receipt, and box) you should get your money back.
As long as i can remember some 3i versions have sunroof+6 CD changer, well if i were u i would probably remove the unit and look on the back, if it won't fit, your better option probably to look for an adapter to make it work, but as long as I am not wrong there defenetly should be one, but when u look let me know if there one or not and if you take a pic, because i am looking forward either getting a satelight radio or CD/DVD/MP3 Changer, thanks
on the back of the stock deck there is a place to plug in an aftermarket unit, like the satellite radio or cd changer that is optional. there should be a wiring harness available to plug in there, and if goes thru the stock headunit you should still be able to use the steering wheel controls. i know around this forum there is a pic showing the back of the stock unit. i ended up not trying to get that cd changer though.
yeah, there is only one plug on the back of the radio, the option for the cd-changer from Mazda was in-dash i believe and the satellite radio would have plugged into the back of the deck. I did not get it because I dont have much of a budget to do anything to my car at this time, which sucks, but since i have a house and a family i have to have my priorities, but if i was single this car would be tricked out already..
