Default intake

greetings, i'm new here. i have an 05 mazda 3s. i currently have magnaflow's catback installed. i wanted to get an intake next. here's my problem, i can't seem to find a cold air intake for my 05. i called up aem and k&n and asked them if i could use the 04 models, they said no, for fittings, testing purposes... i'm also leaning towards weapon r's intake(short ram). does anyone have any suggestions?

i would like to know why the intake of the 04s wont fit...

how is this for an idea...go to a dealership, preferably the one where you bought your car...talk to the salesman who sold you your car...you made him a bunch of money, so he should be willing to let you park your car next to an 05 model,a nd compare the two engine bays...i really cant imagine that something changed, and especially not that drastically.

you know, i thought the 04 models would fit the 05's just fine. so, just to make sure, i gave the companies a call and asked them, and that's what they told me. but yeah, i think i'll go back to the dealership and compare my car to an 04 model, good idea, thanks.

my friends brother installed a weaponR intake on his 1999 mk3 vr6 gti...it looks completely ghetto rigged but it does sound very mean. he claims there has been an improvement in throttle response.

im pretty sure that AEM's Cold Air Intake will fit the 2005 Mazda 3s. Someone that i autocrossed with recently had a black '05 3s and he was using an AEM CAI.
