get a 35 watt kit and u'll be fine you wouldnt need to re-align them. I don't know about the laws in cali so i wouldn't be able to tell you.

you can ask a sponsor here, they can give you a great deal or go to xeonstore.com they are a sponsor on another forum but just tell them that you are from a mazda forum and they can prob give u a discount.

because darker color won't give out much light so it will sort of be equal to a 35watt kit or at least i think so, and it wont be irritating to other drivers since there will be a color to it like 8000k or more.....people move out of the way on the highway most of the time if i come up behind them at normal speed with a 2 car length distance and if im speeding (had to do that today with drunk girls in the back seat)...i didnt even touch a drop of liquor though so i was sober but cars move out of the way as if i had police lights. And i have exhaust and did a few things so its pretty eye catching. Having 50w hid's will put the spot light on you. BUT i love them and enjoy driving with them i just need to get them aligned ASAP.

Still not 100% on what you're trying to get across. But yes the higher the color temp the less output you'll get. You said you had a 5000k kit which isn't too shaby, though a 4000k kit gives you optimal light output.
