I'm quite sure they'd catch on real quick and have you charged with theft. How do you feel about a sizable fine and/or some jail time?

Think Big!

Rob a bank instead -- then you can buy any kind of wheels you want!

DO IT, and make a video while you are doing it, then you can send it to "America's dumbest criminals, so you can see just how stupid this idea is.

What do your rims look like?
And how successful would I be in switching mine out for yours?

I had a comment to make when I first saw this post, but I can't improve on what's already been said, except to say that the world is already full of criminals. Do you really want to be just part of the crowd?
Bubba: You my puppy now, New Meat.... Muhahahahaha!

You might get away with it if you already had alloys...switching out for better tires or new rims.

Still stupid, though.

Although still criminal , it is nothing compared to what folks would do to rented mustangs back in the 60's. The Hertz mustangs came with quite a performance package and folks would swap out entire drive trains, enter them in racing events etc. I was amazing what they would come up with.
