yeah that is pretty good! so if i understand correctly, you told the dealer to order the exact car you wanted, and they gave it to you at $21,171 out the door? If that's correct, I should do that too.

 

well i'm in NY, and who knows if any pricing incentives are there for area dealers. The downside is waiting about 4 months for your new ride.[sm=rolleyes.gif]
but do take your time and see if they negotiate at all.

 

That number sounds about right. I just (a month ago)purchased the 4ds GT. MT, with the moonroof/bose package. The MSRP was ~$21,600. The invoice price was like $20,200. I was lucky enough to have a brother who works for Ford and got to use his employee discount so I paid the invoice price (that was before I added the wing spoiler) which added $450. I added an extra 500 to my downpayment to cover the spoiler and install. Remember adding AT is ~$1K and the nave system is $1.7K.

You may want to ask you dealer about adding the Wing spoiler. Man it makes a big differnce in the look of the car. It may be a touch more cause your dealer will charge an install but its still worth it.

well i was just talking to a dealer in tustin, CA. and he says he can give me the car i want at invoice price plus licensing, taxes, etc. should i take it? or do you think i can lower his price down even more? the msrp on the car i want is about 25gz and the invoice is 23gz. i was planning on getting it for 23 out the door. what do you guys think?

 

Dude, your getting the car/options you want at invoice. How far do you think the dealer is going to go? It is still your decision. all I can say is I bought mine.

 

that's true mrgaragal...i was just curious...is anyone here a car sales man? or know any? and if so, do the dealerships really buy the cars at invoice price? or do carsales men mark the invoice price up? i'm pretty sure they mark it up, cuz i was only at the dealership for a couple hours, and they already went down a couple hundred below invoice. What do you guys think?

the dealers always make money even on invoice. there is what is called dealer holdback. they are being refunded by mazda 2% of the msrp (excluding destination charges) so if the car is msrp at 20000 let's say, they are always getting back least 400. that is if they sell it at invoice. if they sell over, they make way more, so do not eat anything the damn dealer says. check these:

I got my M3 S GT without extras (no sunroof or bose) just the white pearl paint (the only one i could find in ohio without extras) for 500 under invoice plus taxes and some fees. $20700 out the door. but, that is being on the s-plan.

i am in cleveland, but had to go all the way to cincinatti to get it. they would not trade with the local dealer, and it was the only car without the sunroof and bose in about 1000 miles radius. these was another one in wisconsin (the other closest). I got lucky.
