Hello, i have one that is occasionally lazy - fails to open fully. i came across the 'spray lubricant behind mirror' suggestion, and that seems to have got it working again.

But its unclear why, does the motor power a sort of rack & pinon with plastic gears or is there some sort of mechanism which allows slippage without breaking gears ?
