hey mazda434. have you figured out, or does anyone know, the proper lights (part #s) to use in the map and dome lights, and additionally, the glove compartment and ashtray lights? have you had any luck finding a reliable source for purchase?

thanks for your help.

Here's a reply to a similar questions at mazda3forums.

LEDs can be confusing what with all the different size numbers and types!

You are correct that the map lights are size 194. Many members use the WLED-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs from superbrightleds for their map lights which fits perfectly. Don't get anything that has a large plastic base, like the T13-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs. For myself, I went with something like the WLED-WHP LED Wedge Base Bulbs because it is brighter than the WLED-x6, but it only comes in white.

For the dome light, any 31mm festoon should fit fine. I currently have the 31mm 9 LED festoon on my car. It looks like the 7th one down on the http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm link. However, I got all my bulbs from an e-bay seller who specializes in LED bulbs, and has better prices. Here's a link to a 9 LED festoon bulb that he sells which may be what you are looking for. If you're willing to go with white light, I've been meaning to try one of these bulbs if mine ever burns out. This type of LED will be brighter than the usual "bulb" type. But I don't want to confuse the issue any more!

So, simple thing is, 31mm festoon for the dome and you're good to go!

Edit: And when you're ready to put in those map lights, here's a little walkthrough!
The two biggest places I see people ordering from are www.autoillumination.com, www.superbrightleds.com, and www.oznium.com.

for a list of ALL the bulbs, for most cars, try www.cdnautoworks.com
however, you cant order from they're site, as they only do group buys a couple times a year.
but it still lists practically every bulb, and the different types.
