anyone know if the 4 door grill fits the 5 door?
i like the mesh look of the top grill better than the stock one and was wondering if i could swap em out?

 

Nope.The sedan grill is attached to the bumper. The hatch grill to the hood.
4-drs and 5-drs share almost no parts.

from 2007 -2008 its different contraction and instalation from 2004-2006 for hatch
but yes someone said before it wont work but u probably can find one for five door

 

There are European 5 door models that have the "i" style meshy upper grill. They also have a different bumper. If you were to add one of those grills to your US 5-door then you would have to remove the little "lip" that's attached to the bumper in order to clear the new grill. ag bullet on mazda3forums did this with his a few years ago, though I can't find the how-to he wrote. Here's a picture.

 

the us i model grill will not fit the us s model. there are awkward gaps and it just doesnt fit flush like it should...there are mesh grills available for the five door.

 

that is exactly what i want icspots. looks soo much cleaner. are there aftermarket mesh girlls that incorporate the mazda badge like shown above?

 

I don't think so. If you really want it then find a Euro "i" model hatch grill, have it shipped over here, and then cut off that last piece that's attached to the bumper (it's basically the bottom "blade" of the cheese slicer grill).
