I have done plenty of brake pad changes on my VW Jetta and it is picky
with greasing the slide pins on the calibar with synthetic brake caliper grease. Since my M3 only has 27K on it, is it worthwhile to put this grease on the caliper pins each pad change? Be reminded I haven't even looked at the assembly yet so it may be very different from my VW.

Also, I am not a junkie into modifying my Mazda, however I don't want ****ty pads on my factory calipers. Can anybody steer me to the right website for a good set for a decent price?

 

Not sure but you either have a brake problem or you ride the brake when you drive. I have 10k more miles on mine and I have plenty of pad left.

 

Aubrey, I know I don't have a brake problem because it passed inspection last week. My mechanic said the pads are low, but enough to pass. I brake hard because my ride to work is back roads with lots of turns so brake wear is common. Now if those 27K miles we all highway, it would be a different story.

 

The only thing I applied grease to was the back of the pads where they contact the caliper to reduce chatter. Otherwise you shouldn't have to grease anything else.

as far as brake wear which pads are these that are worn? If it's the rear ones then that's common as the OEM rear pads are a softer material than the front ones so they often wear more quickly. Also the inner ones tend to wear faster as well.
