Default engine mods

im new to the forum

i dont actually own a mazda 3, but im trying to find some things out for a friend

He owns a 2009 mazda 3 sedan. he told me it was 2.0 but i thought they were 2.3 litre( i dont know too much about mazdas)

they are 16 valve if im not mistaken.

anyway, im trying to find out what would be some engine modifications for increased horsepower. he does not want to rice the car out but hes looking for horsepower.

thats what i thought, and i did some more research so it is a 2.0. im guessing that with basic mods such as exhaust and intake he would have around ~180 hp.

has anyone here turboed a 2.0? seems to me like itd be alot of work and not worth it.

180 hp MAYBE but not at the wheels, yes there are turbo 2.0 both auto and manual, putting down some decent numbers BUT at a high cost since they got all there stuff when everything was first comming out, still is kinda expensive now but hey u gotta pay to play.
