i was wondering is there any major difference between a 2.0L and a 2.3L engine. im wondering this cause im trying to put in upgrades and i seem to be finding more 2.3L parts than 2.0L parts

the 2.3L engine makes 160hp, while the 2.0L engine only makes 150

other than that, i dunno...i guess aftermarket companys figure us consumers would rather mod a GT over a base 2.0

Yeah, but it's easier to turbo the 2.0 engine. 8)

The 2.0L has higher compression ratio, from the modified vehicles I have seen #'s on, it seems like the 2.0L gets more out of a specific mod than does a 2.3L. However, there is no replacement for displacement when it comes to moving a ton of fuel/air. The 2.3L is the more commone engine (at least in the US) so you will see more parts for that than the 2.0L.

Depends on the parts...The Mazdaspeed exhaust available for the 3 is the same for both the 2.0/2.3L, so in some cases yes, but I'm sure most of the engine internals aren't compatible. What are you looking to do?

There's no difference in the 2.3L engine in the 5-door vs. the 4-door.
