Default Drop IN or CAI?

Do the drop in K&N air filters make to much of a difference, or should I just shoot for it and get the CAI?

I did the drop in first till I decided what CAI was best for me. I didn'tnotice a whole lotta' difference.
Try it if you want, but I'd say save the $50, add to it and get the CAI.
On the other hand, if you still have warranty time left, you may want to consider doing nothing for now.
K&N filters (oiled filters) have been known to cause issues w/some MAF sensors when over-oiled.

what richard said^^^

instead of using an oiled filter, synthetic non-oiled filters are a good alternative. i use one with my aem cai...it is very easy to maintain/clean and works as efficiently as an oiled filter, but is not prone to causing problems with the MAF.

I would go with CAI AEM synthetic non-oiled filter, better sound/performance worth the price. I got mine for $235
