Car Audio Question...
Does anyone know of any MP3 adapters that I can install on my stock Mazda3 radio? I'm pretty tired of FM transmitters and I'd like to avoid buying a new head-unit if at all possible.
Thanks.
Mike

Or, you could just do what I did... get an intake and an exhaust, and listen to that instead. The symphony your right foot plays.

-What year is your car?
-Do you have OEM sirius?
-What kind of device are you inputting from?
-Do you want a simple input or ipod integration?
If you're looking for ipod stuff.
-Do you want full integration?
-Do you want an auxiliary 3.5mm jack for other devices?
-Do you want text display on the HU LCD

RE: Car Audio Question...
haha I know virgin1 and yeah that link seemed pretty informative, but im still a little confused concerning if what I want to do is actually possible with my stock radio.
to answer your question spots...
-What year is your car? .....2006
-Do you have OEM sirius?.....I have the hookups for satellite radio, buttons on the unit etc, but its not activated. (std. radio/single cd package)
-What kind of device are you inputting from?.....Microsoft Zune
-Do you want a simple input or ipod integration?....What I am idealy looking for is something that plugs into the headphone jack (I'm not sure if that answers the question haha. I just want the music to play through the radio, I don't need the dash to display the songs or anything)

RE: Car Audio Question...
It sounds like what you need is an Aux Mod basic (see the link in my audio input thread). It connects through the TAPE/MD slot on the bottom of the HU and gives you a 3.5mm input. I've had one since....... oh maybe Nov '05 and not had a single problem out of it. It will run you about $60 or so and there's generally a wait to get one.
It's well that you're not looking for integration as nothing but the ipod gets it (sigh). Anyway the AuxMod will do what you're looking for.
Other options are the PIE module with the 3.5mm adapter, or the periperals adapter, however both of those will cost you more. If you're looking at something a bit more pricey you could go with the audiolink USB/Mp3 module. it has a 3.5mm input as well as USB and SD slots on it.
Let me know if I can help you more with this.
