cabin filter replacement vs AC malfunction
Good aftenoon all
Guys looking for answer for the following issue that has occured on my Mazda 3 2012 skyactive cabin filter replacement.
As every year, trying to save few buck by replacing cabin filter on my own. As every year it was taking only few minutes to get the job done.
Today was different. In fact I did follow the same steps as every time, but when I was done I noticed that I could not start A/C **** (range 1-3) and it only kicked in when it was set on 4.
When switching from position 1-3, there is no air blowing nor the A/C kicks in.
Any advise if there is a way I can get it fixed, or unfortunatelly I will need to spend few hundreds at the car shop>
Thanks

Welcome aboard.
My first suggestion is the blower resistor is failing. It controls speeds of the blower motor. I've experienced this on other vehicles. Usually easily accessible under the glove box along the firewall somewhere. It'll have a cable connector, couple of holding screws. They can be tested if you're handy with a multimeter.
Changing the cabin filter, which is good regular maintenance, is unrelated to the resistor. Just coincidence..
