Default A/C System not cold while stopped

So i have tried mutliple searches with no results.

I assume the cooling fan is out and that is why the A/C is not working while stopped at lights, etc. As soon as we start to move the A/C kicks in and is cold as ever. The dealer we just purchased it from said they will take care of it, but I am curious if its a well known issue?

Again i assume its the cooling fan sensor or relay that turns the fan on, and that is somehow not functioning (fuse?), or whatnot.

Anyone experience similar problem?

2006 M3 Hatch.

If the cooling fan was out the car itself would be running hot at the same time, I don't know if it has a separate relay for the A/C but it might be a little low on Freon and just needs the extra air running across the condenser to make it cold.

On my M3, the AC air is certainly cooler while the car is in motion, versus stopped and idling. I think this is true for any car, the engine is revving higher, air is being pushed through the front grill by the speed of the car, both of which help the AC system.

I believe Mazda has made some changes to the M3's ACsystem over time, from what I have read, it was pretty weak the first year or two of the M3s production (2004 and 2005).

I know the AC system does have a shut off switch, it will cut off if it senses the engine is getting too hot. I assume your dealer, as part of the process,is going to test to see if this switch is functioning properly.
