Default A/C Compressor Thermocouple issue

Hi all,

I took my 3s to a shop yesterday to get the A/C looked at. It has been intermittently working on and off, mostly when you first start the car/when it's cooler outside, but once the car gets to operating temp, it just blows hot air. Well when i took it to the shop, the guy said that the freon was a hair low, but he he thinks the thermocouple is bad. he said he was able to play with the wiring to get it to work temporarily. he also said the thermocouple is built into the compressor, so I would have to get a new compressor. Anyone here have any knowledge if that is true? Can I replace the thermocouple? After I left the shop, it did work longer than it has in a long time, but after about 15 minutes it stopped again.

thanks in advance
