Smile Buying a Used Mazda 3 Gt, need some guidance!

Hello everyone!

First post!

As a student on a budget, I have recently taken interest in a 2007 Mazda 3 GT (w/ luxury package) at my local Mazda dealer.

The ride is decent, and everything seems to be working alright. I am no mechanic and I was wondering what kind of check ups/tuning I should ask the Mazda dealer to do before I take the car home.

The obvious ones are touch-up paint, and thorough cleaning, and whatever standard checks they have.

Are there any that you guys suggest that I SHOULD get Mazda to do that may not be included a standard check-up/tuning. (Alignment & etc?) I want to make sure that everything is in tip-top condition.

Also, if there are any other tips I should be aware of when dealing with the dealer, please let me know. Thanks!!!

If your a student on a budget i wouldnt get such a high model, power windows and locks is all you need. As for the check ups, you should see if they can make sure your pcm is up to date, trash the tires if they come with goodyears, make sure the power steering is functioning properly, umm thats all i can think of, enjoy your 3

PCM=Powertrain Control Module, in a nutshell its the "brain" of the car. Also known as an ECM (Electronic Control Module)

Have them do a tranny flush and replace the cabin air filter. A tranny flush from the dealer is a little over $200 and the filter is around $80. Not sure what state you are in but maybe they can put on window tint.
Make sure the sunroof works and all of the radio controls work correctly.
