I've had a 2012 Mazda3 for about 4 months. The issue I am experiencing has been happening since I had the car brand new. Anyhow, the first time I turn the defroster on for the day or after the car has been sitting a while, I hear a brief grinding noise, which only lasts about a second. The noise sounds kind of like a coffee grinder being turned on for a second.

Is that noise upon first usage of the defroster for the day normal behavior for these vehicles, or do I have a problem?
