Borla exhaust for the 2.3l sedan?
New guy question! Has anyone installed a borla exhaust on the 2.3l sedan? The only borla system I have found for the 3 says it fits the 5 door. I have seen that with other systems there is a difference of a couple of inches between the sedan and hatch. Just wondering if a link has to be welded on for a good fit? Also looking at a Vibrant exhaust. I've heard these two systems have the deepest tones.
No, I have the Vibrant and LOVE it to DEATH!!! https://www.mazdaforum.com/m_53114/tm.htm
I have heard that the Borla is a good system and that it is relatively quiet compared to say... a Magnaflow, but my Vibe is fairly quiet imo too. It all depends just how hard you hit the skinny pedal really.
A main difference is that the Vibe is a true header back system. It comes w/a high-flow cat as part of it. And it bolts together w/exhaust gaskets and 3 bolt flanges. No blow-aparts.
The only thing about the system I would change is the tip. I like the size (4") and shape (flared, bologna cut) but it"s a single-walled, uninsulated tip. Vibe makes a double-wall but for some unknown reason does not include it with this kit. It must be purchased and installed (cut/welded on) separately.
