I’ve just got myself a mazda 3 (2018 sport nav) which I wanted for a few years now and I can’t find the settings related to the auto door lock. I go to settings - vehicle - door lock, but the auto door lock settings are missing. Is this something related to the OS version?

Try again but this time with ACC (double press Start Button) or Engine on.

Please post a picture of Doors Lock Menu. It's possible in your region that menu it's disabled by some law or regulation. If you want this menu enable you would need an ELM327 w/HI/LO switch and free Forscan.
Change a couple of bytes and menu would appear after pressing Reset.
