I was curious as to what is the stock tint either dealers or factory puts on the 07 mazda 3's???

Mine was damn near clear so I would say they put on the 93% if anything.

 

i think it depends on the dealer....
mine came with little to no tint to it....

 

I had window tinting installed on my speed3. The film was 41%. The light transmission meter said 36% ( needs to pass 35% here in NC ). 0.88*41 = 36, so I'd guess the factory windows are 88%.

 

Now then in my case i am guessing it must be tint the dealer put on. I live in Texas, so they prob. put that on the vehicles so there wont be sun/heat damage. I went to a Aftermarket Tint dealer, and he actually said that the tint on my car looked like it was 25-30%. Thats pretty damn good. In texas, the highest legal tint is 20%, so i think ill keep that stock.

I had my '04 5 door tinted. 7% limo in the back and 35% on the front doors. I really like how it looks and it helps keep the heat down in the car. According to Ziebart, it's legal in Illinois.

 

i live in san francisco bay area.. and the most we can get is 30% visible on the front side windows... but i work in a very hot area north of sf is the 100s.. yeah i read through a website... tinted windows not only help cools down your car, but it also give you a lesser risk of skin cancer (for commuters).

i am about to get mine tinted on my 07 mazda 3 s touring. and prefer to have all my windows the same tint... what do you guys think? prefer darker in the back or ?

 

I am in south fla. and damn is it hot - I put 3% limo ( charcoal ) all the way around and 50% on the entire windshield .Does it help keep the car cool especially with a black car.

 

I realize that only the criminally insane live inFla (j/k) but why would ANYONE in such a hot climate choose a black car, or leather interior??
I'm in Texas and see it all the time here too,but one of the main reasons I own a white car (cloth interior) is just because of the climate... and I had heard that the A/C was weak even beforeI had decided. Besides, white stays "clean" (looking) much longer than black does.
I owned one black car, and just by chance it had red leather interior too. This was when I still lived in Pa where it wasn't quite so hot, but still sticky in the summer. I SWORE I would never do that again.

 

Besides, is 3% even legal in Fla... or anywhere in the states? Not to mention tintingyour winshield, which I believeto be illegal in all states.

BAG1030: Mine had dealer installed tint when I bought it. 25% front sides(max legal)/5% everywhere else (only legal on back light in Texas. IOWs, my rear sides are illegal here.) It looks OK, and only been pulled over once so far for it too.
