Dealer wants to replace tranny but I read that it would have to be a specific type. I'm also wondering if the entire tranny could fail. From what I'm reading it's a defect with Mazda 3 2006-2008 with a certain vin and due to a hard piece. This sounds like an inconvenience and not a tranny about to fail, but I don't really know. No slipping has occurred yet, I was planning a road trip this weekend, should I rent a car? It goes to the shop Tuesday, the road trip will total around 500 miles.
