I'm looking to potentially buy a 2011 2nd-gen M3. Seems like a really good deal - only glaring thing is a dashboard bulge, which reading up on it seems like a well-known issue. Appears there was a recall on them for a while, though now the recall is done.

So I'm wondering a couple of things:

- Has anyone here done a fix or replacement? If so - how easy? I'm a relative layman though fairly handy. (I see a few videos on line, e.g. one from Paul from Perth)

- Anyone know if a replacement dashboard would be one where the problem has been fixed? (e.g. they use a different kind of plastic that doesn't warp, or perhaps metal)

Here's a pseudo fix, though seems like a big pain - I'd just as soon replace it, if a replacement dash is reasonable. (Haven't checked price yet)
