Default 2024 Mazda 3 (Tukami, UK reg) - Electrical Gremlins & Quality Issues

Hey fellow Mazda specialists,

Looking for some collective wisdom here as i have run to this random issue and i was hoping you could chip in and help me to understand if anyone else is expereince these issues.

Electrical Issues:

1. Auto Rain Sensing Wipers
- Intermittent functionality
- Sometimes completely unresponsive to rain
- Manual operation works fine

2. Keyless Entry
- Inconsistent walk-away locking
- Works randomly, no clear pattern
- Key fob otherwise functioning normally

3. Auto Headlights
- Auto high/low beam function non-operational
- Manual beam control works perfectly

4. Wireless Charging Pad
- Inconsistent charging
- Excessive heat generation during charging
- Phone slides around the pad during normal driving
- Design flaw in the pad's surface grip?

Build Quality Concern:
- Noticeable buzzing/rattling sound at specific speeds
- Sound becomes more prominent over bumps and road imperfections
- Sound characteristics suggest loose trim/component rather than suspension
- Most likely locations based on experience: Center console area, dashboard joints, or door panel fasteners

Questions for the community:
1. Anyone else seeing similar wireless charging issues on 2024 models?
2. Any success pinpointing that rattling noise? Common trouble spots?
3. Are these electrical gremlins showing up in other UK-spec Mazda 3s?

If anyone's found reliable fixes, especially for the wireless charging and rattling, I'd appreciate the input. These new models are throwing some interesting curveballs our way.

Thanx
P.S. - If any other UK Mazda 3 owners are experiencing similar issues, please chime in. Trying to establish if this is a broader pattern.

Welcome to the forum

The best advise and wisdom if take you Mazda to a Mazda dealer it should still be under WARRATY.

Tapering to fix some of your items may void parts of your WARRATY.

Not to mention if it is still under WARRTY your VIN will be entered having these issues and of you WARRATY expires if the issues was not resolved will still be covered

Hey Thanx
Yes i am sure it will be, i was just asking if there was other owners who may have experienced these issue and if so what help and support fixed the issue. Was it contacting Mazda or was this done through a software update etc.

Thanx

When we occasionally get someone in the shop with over time each of your listed areas, if it is not still under Warranty and if we have a current or updated file will do a pass-through (flash) in the ECU.
But if that does not solve the listed concerns then each is a separate diagnosis to determine the reason for each on your list which generally does require not only accessing the ECU but the non-ECU diagnostics to either correct or find the cause. There is no real one answer of cure for all of those on your list.
Sound and rattles are often mis located by owners and DIY's and they often require 2 people to at least pinpoint the true locations of them. As for their actual descriptive sounds that goes without saying unless a little auto mechanic experienced then how people describe them is at times colorful at best and not necessarily accurate to the what the material causing them may technically really sound like to a trained ear?
I will also add that a couple of them if not done correctly can cause other issues added to your list so I would be very careful if DIY method is your goal for correcting them.

Now dont be surpised if the responses on any forum with this type of quaestions becaome a long guess expedition from DIY members. LOL

Honestly good luck and nothing you posted seems serious and not reasonable corrected in the right shop and auto technician .

When you close the door, wait for the beep. Then walk away and the door will lock while beeping a second time.

Does your car has ALH (Adaptive Led Headlights) or HBC (High Beam Control)?

I need some clarification about my Takumi model's headlight system. I know it has Adaptive LED Headlights, but I'm confused about the High Beam Control (HBC) feature. While I do see an indicator for Automatic Beam Control in my car, I'm not entirely sure if it's working as intended.
Here's what I've noticed during testing:

When using Automatic Beam Control mode:

The low beam setting seems very bright (other drivers sometimes flash their lights at me)
Switching to high beam only adds a slightly wider coverage

When NOT using Automatic mode:

The low beam is noticeably dimmer
The high beam provides full light coverage

Could someone explain how this system is supposed to work? I want to make sure I understand if this behavior is normal.

"but I'm confused about the High Beam Control (HBC) feature"
It is one of the two. Not both systems at the same time.

You have to enable the ALH system in the settings.
When you switch to high beam (with the stick pushed to the front) the system will continually do some checks.
With low speed the high beam is not active (no blue light in the dashboard)
With daylight or street lights the high beam is not active (no blue light in the dashboard)
You need to drive in the dark. The front camera will switch the high beam segments on in the direction where no other cars are detected and only if the blue light is on in the dashboard.

From the manual:
The ALH are a system which uses the
Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) to
determine the situation of a vehicle ahead
or a vehicle approaching in the opposite
direction while driving at night to
automatically switch the illumination
range of the headlights, the illuminated
area, or the illumination brightness.
The ALH are controlled between high and
low beams as follows to assure the driver’s
visibility without dazzling a vehicle ahead
or a vehicle approaching in the opposite
direction.
Glare-Free High Beam
This feature dims only the high-beam light
shone on the vehicle ahead.
The high beams will dim while driving at
a speed of about 40 km/h (25 mph) or
faster. When the vehicle speed is less than
about 30 km/h (19 mph), the beams switch
to the low beams.

The headlight high-beam indicator light
turns on while the high beams are on.

When Driving
(Some models)
Wide-Range Low Beam
This feature extends the illumination range
of the light cast by the low beams while
driving at a speed less than about 40 km/h
(25 mph).
Highway Mode
This feature shifts the illumination angle
of the light cast by the headlights upward
while driving on highways.
The distance in which the ALH can detect
objects varies depending on the
surrounding conditions.

NOTE
Under the following conditions, the ALH
may not operate normally. Manually
switch between the high and low beams
according to the visibility, and the road
and traffic conditions.
When there are other sources of light in
the area such as streetlamps,
illuminated signboards, and traffic
signals.
When there are reflective objects in the
surrounding area such as reflective
plates and signs.
When visibility is reduced under rain,
snow and foggy conditions.
When driving on roads with sharp
curves or undulations.
When the headlights/rear lamps of
vehicles ahead or in the opposite lane
are dim or not illuminated.
When there is insufficient darkness such
as at dawn or dusk.
When the luggage compartment is
loaded with heavy objects or the rear
passenger seats are occupied.
When visibility is reduced due to a
vehicle ahead spraying water from its
tyres onto your windscreen.

When Driving
To Operate the System
The system switches the headlights to the
high beams after the ignition is switched
ON and the headlight switch is in the forward
position. The ALH indicator light (green)
in the instrument cluster turns on
simultaneously.
The ALH determine that it is nighttime
based on the brightness of the surrounding
area.
The system cancels operation when the
headlight switch is turned to a position
other than automatic, the headlights are
manually switched to low beams, or the
high beams are flashed on and off.
NOTE
The system can be changed so that the
ALH do not operate.
Refer to the Settings section in the Mazda
Connect Owner's Manual.
