2014 Mazda 3, Gear Shift Lever Sticking In Park
Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I purchased a new 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback in
July. Since then, my gear shift lever has become stuck in park twice.
I've removed the cover, and pressed a key into the opening to free it.
I'm not happy this new car is having this problem. I now have 5000
miles on it.
Today, I scheduled an appointment to have it looked and will be happy to
report back what they find.
Has this been a problem for anybody else?
Thanks,
Tim

There could be an issue with the shift lock sensor on the brakes. When you press in the brake pedal, you should be able to hear a clicking sort of noise coming from the shifter assembly. Check to see if your brake lights are coming on when you press the pedal.
