We have a 2010 Mazda 3 sedan that has been flawless for 4 years except needing a battery at 37 months until last night.

We parked the car normally and returned in a few minutes and the key could not be inserted in the ignition and the security indicator light is flashing.

It looks like there is a piece of metal blocking the ignition that looks like either some type of lockout or one of the tumblers is out of place and blocking it. I will confess I have never looked in the ignition key whole before this problem.

Has anyone ever had or heard of a problem before? Any input is greatly appreciated.
