Default 2005 Mazda 3 2.3 crankshaft

Hello, first post.

I have a 2005 2.3 and my crankshaft is so worn it’s knocking with new rod bearings installed, does anyone know where I can find and purchase a new crank (manual trans) I can’t seem to find one online

thank you for your time!

It will be better, faster, and cheaper for you to swap the engine in your car for a Ford Duratec 2.5. The Ford motor is basically the same motor as your 2.3 but with some very important internal upgrades; that plus the 2.5 has more power, far more reliability, and gets as good as or better fuel economy. If that isn't enough, the engines are so plentiful, you should be able to buy a low-mileage used motor for less than it will cost you to buy a new crank for your 2.3; don't get no better than that.

Thank you! I’ve seen a lot of people swapping these motors but I figured they would be normal engine price (close to or upwards of $1,000) what if anything would I have to modify with this swap?

The basic steps are to pull all of the manifolds and sensors off the 2.3 and mount them on the 2.5. You should be able to query the steps for the conversion via your favorite search engine. I have not done the swap personally, but I have heard from numerous folks who've done it and they are thrilled with the results.
