So I am having an issue with my 2004 Mazda 3 2.3l. This has been a problem since we bought the car and have never been able to pin point this issue. I know some things about cars but not what I need to know to fix this. When you turn the fan speed on the ac light with illuminate and then shut off then on again then off sometimes it won’t turn on at all no matter how many times you press it the compressor for the ac kicks on every time the ac light comes on so the air itself works fine but I can’t pin point the reasoning as to why it shuts itself off so often. We live in the desert where it’s 110+ degrees in the summer so not having The air working is a bit of an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated I’ve had my fill of it not working but we love the car and want to keep it. So any suggestions would be great.

 

Sounds like a faulty A/C switch

 

Do you know how much that would be to fix ?
