18x8 48mm offest not compatible?
I searched through the forum and couldnt find an answer so I need some help.
My car:2008 mazda 3s grand touring hatchback(the non turbo 17x6.5 stock wheels)
The Wheel/Tires: Oz Ultraleggera 18x8 48mm offset 114.3x5 bolt pattern with a 215/45/18 tire
When I search by make/model this is not compatible on tirerack.com with my car, but it does work with the mazdaspeed3... What da hell?? Ive been getting 50/50 feedback some saying no problem they will work others saying it would unsafe and pushing it.. Anyone out there with similar combos that can offer some help? Thanks in advance, I really want these wheels.

I wouldn't take EVERYTHING the tire rack says as gospel. Idon't see why they wouldn't fit, just that there may be some issues. I'd be more worried about the width of the tire you put on there than the wheel.
And as is always a personal concern for me, whatall that extra weight would do to the acceleration, handling, braking and steering. I always try to go lighter than stock.
The OE 17's are approx 19.4-19.6 lbs ea. The Kosei's I'm running are less than 14 lbs, but I had to give up the 18" look in order to get that.
And BTW: The tire rack NOW lists these wheels w/a +50mm offset for the 3 series thanks to me.Before they only showed the +42, but had the +50 listed for the Protege's.
See what I mean?
225 is max safe width for the 3 series, but others have run 235's. There's really no point to it though and you might need to roll fender lips to clear, especially if you plan to lower the car.
