Default 07 Hatchback bumper steps/guards installed.

For anyone who's thought about installing them, here's some pics. I got them today and they took all of 10-15 minutes to install. I wiped down the top of the bumper with a wet towel and then dried it well. Then wiped it all down with alchohol and let that dry. The kit comes with spacers which makes the installation really easy. Just use the spacers, peel the double sided tape and stick them down. I like the way they look, adds some black contrast to the all silver back of the car. The big *** baseball bag you see in the pics is why I got them, I can just see my teenage son being lazy and dragging that thing across the top of the bumper. SCRATCH!

have you stepped on them yet. is it me or do mazda3s dent really easy, i pushed my friend into my car one time very lightly, coming home from the bars, and there was like a huge dent from his body in my car, i was shocked and pissed, we pushed it out most of the way, but then a couple weeks later someone totalled it so . . .

No, and I don't plan to. To me bumper steps is kind of an improper name, more like bumper guards to me.

Two things that don't go together well... Bars 'n' Cars.
I agree. ^ ^ ^ Mazda should correct that name. I wouldn't trust stepping on them either, though I have kneeled on mine.

I'm tall enough at 6' 3" that I won't have to even kneel on the bumper. If I'm loading something in the back where I have the seats folded down, I can just kneel inside the hatch area, I won't kneel on the bumper, my luck I would put a dent in it.

I've heard about that "clear bra" stuff but I wonder about it. I've seen pics of it and it looks great but what happens in five years? Is it guarenteed not to fade, crack, peelor turn yellow? The suncan detroy just about anything over time.

those bumper guards actually look pretty good...i was always a bit skeptical of them. theyd be good for me since im always lugging my drum set and amplifiers around, i get worried about skuffing the bumper. about how much do the bumper guards weigh?

Don't worry, Man. They don't weigh anything. Just two thin pcs of plastic held on w/grey3M tape.
And yeah. I had intended to do it, but scuffed my r bumper before I had the chance.
I know about dragging amps and drums around. I'd definitely consider it if I wuz U.
